Here is what was posted on Paul's status.com site.

28-Aug-01 03:35 PM from Anne: The surgery went well, and Paul looks great( even though he's got more wires and cables than our home has! ). I finally got to see him at 1.30pm and he was out for the count. It was great to see a normal regular heart beat on the moniter, though he is being paced at the moment. He'll be spending the night in the ICU, but hopefully back in a normal room tomorrow.
Thanks for all the good wishes, they seem to be working.
