Henry the question about how the maze is scheduled would differ from one hospital to another.
I was lucky and had the maze near where I lived, which made it easier for me and the family.
I saw the surgeon about a week before I had the maze, and they set everything up that day.
I went into the hospital about noon on a Thurs. and had a angiogram to check for blockages. None found. I stayed in the hospital over night and had my surgery on Fri. morning. I stayed in recovery overnight, and went to my regular room on Sat. morning. I was released from the hospital on Wed.
These things will vary greatly depending on several factors. My surgery went about as well as I could of hoped for.
