Here is information I got from Michael, and he also ask for our prayers for his upcomming surgery. He was having problems posting himself.
Jack, I sent you an e-mail a couple of months ago. I have been scheduled for the
maze August 21, 7:30am at piedmont hospital in Atlanta. Dr. James Kauten will
perform the surgery. My home computer is sent out to the shop, so I am sending
this from work. For some reason I cant post on the board from here so hopefully
you could post this for me. I'm 38 years old and had a pacemaker put in last
year so I could take sotalol 240mgs. twice a day still doesn't keep me in NSR
for more than a couple of months at a time. I've been cardioverted 4 times in
the last 9 months. My Dr. said the drugs just aren't working so I have decided
to go through with the maze.
I will be at Piedmont Hospital 1968 Peachtree Rd. N.W. Atlanta 30309
(404) 605-5000. I've already had the heart catheter done and all the
preadmission stuff. I will report to the hospital at 5:30a.m. August 21st.
Surgery will begin at 7:30a.m. One thing I'd like to tell you is I really admire
someone who will continue to think of others even after they have been cured of
a problem as you have. I really hope and pray that I will have the same good
results as you so I can return to a normal life free of A/F and the constant
worry of when it will happen again. Thank's again for your time.
I have been reading the board for a long time now and it's great comfort knowing
I'm not the only one with this problem. Your prayers would be appreciated.
