Dave,
I was intubated and had an endotracheal tube when I came out of surgery (this is standard). They are no big deal. The endotracheal will soon be removed and gives you no pain. After a couple days the chest tubes will be removed (you sure don't want fluid building up inside you). They are pulled out with little effort. You will feel your hands tied to the bed when you start to awake right after surgery. This is done for obvious reasons. As someone has already said just allow yourself to relax they will soon untie them. We will be praying for you. John W. Gross
