Anne, I tried magnesium for my afib before I had my maze 2 years ago. I was having episodes every 2-3 days. After starting the magnesium, I went 3 weeks with no afib, so it did seem to have a beneficial effect. I never went that long without an episode again, but it did seem to occur slightly less often when I was taking it. I was taking "Magnesium Aspartate Hydrochloride" 400mg per day that I bought at a health food store. I haven't tried it for PACs, which I do have occasionally, but I may try it again and see what happens, since it's supposed to help heart rhythm. Thanks for the idea.
