Has anyone tried magnesium to cut or prevent PVCs? If so, has it been effective? I talked to Michele from Dr. Natale's staff at the CC on this subject and she told me that some people have had excellent success with magnesium and in fact have canceled their ablations due to the mineral's beneficial effects.
Yesterday I tried a brand of magnesium available only in France (I lived there for a few years and brought it back). It is called Magne-B6 (a magnesium, pyridoxine combination) and it worked--no PACs to go to bed with which was a relief after 3 days of having them come and go. I took two 470 mg tables with lunch and another 2 at dinner, the dose suggested on the package.
Unfortunately this well-known French over the counter magnesium in not available in the USA. Is there anyone out there who uses magnesium regularly and can recommend a brand name (either perscripion or non-perscription)?
Personally I like the idea of a harmless mineral to control PACs because I'd hate to go back on to antiarrhythmics or beta blockers but at the same time I really want to eliminate or greatly reduce PACs.
Finally if here any of you--like perhaps you, Glenn--experiencing post PVI PACs, you might try maganesium and see how it works for you.
