another tough day

It's been a hectic day to say the least. I went for a swallowing test this morning at the local hospital and before I left home I was in afib full force. I was supposed to not take my meds this morning until after the test. I knew the radiologist and he let me swallow 100 mg of flecainide so my heart would settle down enough to do the test. Being diabetic and exceptionally hungry didn't help the situaion any.

My PVA is scheduled March 9th at Texas Heart Instute in Houston, Tx. I'm scared but then I wish it were already over and done with. I hate having to go through the TEE the day before having to refrain from food or water for twelve hours prior to the TEE and then not being to try swallowing water until four hours afterward. I go bananas thinking how I'm going to be able to ride a shuttle from the hotel to the hospital in the morning without taking any medicines or nothing to eat. I know it has to be done, but it's tough when you are diabetic. I always have to eat something immediately after arising in the morning or I get nauseaous.

How did you all who have been through these procedures handle these situations?

Oh well, enough of this blah blah blah......

Glenn
