If the Texas Heart Institute operates like the CC they will "pre-qualify" you for surgery. My doctor wrote a letter to Blue Cross recommending surgery at the Cleveland Clinic(out of state for me) and then the clinic insurance office pre-qualified me for the surgery. I, of course, stayed on top of both of them. I really believe you have to be pro-active these days in handling health and insurance matters.
