Rob, it is a decision that you, or you and your family should make after learning all you can about the cures, maze or ablation.

When I had my maze, I had no choices that I knew about. Lucky for me, the maze was available where I lived, and my EP never mentioned anything about ablations.

After being cured almost 6 years, and knowing much more now about maze and ablations, my personal choice would still be the maze.

I was 64 when I had my maze. I feel I probably had a easier time with the surgery than the majority, and I didn't feel like it was near as bad as I had expected.
I had radical prostate surgery 8 years before my maze, and it was MUCH worse than the maze surgery.

Ablations are improving, but I personally don't think they have reached, (in most facilities) the level that would make them the choice for me. The Cleveland Clinic and maybe a couple more might be a exception, but I would have to learn more about their results.
Best wishes and prayers for a correct choice and a great outcome.
