Just so you don't get confused, an AV node ablation is different from a pulmonary vein ablation. The word ablation is used frequently in AF treatments so be cautious when speaking with an EP. An AV node ablation permanently destroys the heart's natural pacemaker. Like Glenn, my former cardiologist recommended a pacemaker and I refused. I throughly investigated every option and I'm glad I did.
