You GO woman! Push ahead, because all that can happen is a "no", and then you just get more creative.

I couldn't get in to see a Neurosurgeon when I had a spine tumor diagnosed by an MRI, ordered by my family physician. So I called the three hospitals in my area of Arkansas boonies. I just spoke to the hospital operator, and asked if they had any neurosurgeons who did "on call" duty in the ER. I found that the newest neurosurgeon in town, did "on call" on Fridays. So, I waited until about 5:45 (when he might be done with out-patients)went to ER, complained about my back to the ER staff, and asked at the aproptiate time, if there wasn't a neurosurgeon on call. Snagged HIM! After he saw me, he asked me to come to the office Monday am. (I had already called his office and the front desk baricouda said he wasn't taking any new patients!!)
Pretty sneaky...hugh?

I've read on the Mayo site, that if you show up at their door, you WILL be seen. Wonder if it works at other places?
S.
