Have any of you fine folks ever used the second opinion that CC offers? I was thinking about doing it in order to save an extra trip to Cleveland, or is this necessary at all? I haven't been on this board long enough to read of anyone who has. I talked with Jennifer at CC in the second opinion dept. and she said I would need to send a recent........
-Rhythm strip that documents my arrhythmia
-Echocardiogram film and report(movie on CD or video)
-Medical records pertinent to my cardiac condition
-Recent history and physical exam report

and also make a printout of a Doctor's consent form from the website and have a Dr. sign it. She said that's because none of the Dr's at CC are liscensed in the state of Texas.
The above items I may be able to assemble and send to CC, but I have been unable to get my Internal Dr. or cardiologist or EP to sign it. They would rather donate one of their arms. My personal Dr., the internist told me to get my cardiologist or EP to sign it because and I quote....."I referred you to them and they are qualified to give you the best treatments". The cardiologist said ... "get EP, (I won't say his name), to sign it because he handles all your rhythm problems". These people (Dr's) are adamantly opposed to me having a procedure done that can possibly cure me because in their words.... "it is too risky, and it's still experimental". I told my cardiologist and EP that I am willing to be experimented on because all they have been doing all these years is experimenting with changing medications and higher doses and my condition has progressively worsened. I have been risking my life in your hands. I asked my EP why he wanted me to spend 48 hours in the hospital for observation when he changed me back to tambacor/flecainide if it wasn't risky? Well that didn't go over very well and I really don't give a hoot 'n holler.

These guys are supposed to be the best in this area. Dallas is two hours drive away and it's not very convenient to have to go that far especially being debilitated.

It's like I'm not already stressed out with this damnable crap enough, somebody else has to throw a monkey wrench in the process and add more stress.

Oh well, I'm complaining again, but I wondered if any of you have used CC's service and if you encountered any obstacles. What were they and how were they resolved.

By the way, a surgeon and his wife are some of our closest friends and he won't even sign the dadblammed consent either. I've shown him what people are saying on this message board and different articles about PVA(I) and Maze procedures and he tells me to stick with my cardiologist and EP, they know best how to care for me and if they can't who to send me to see.

I'm put out to say the least with all of 'em right now. B/P is up over this.
