A-Fib & Maze

I have A-fib. for about a yr. Echo and TEE showed enlarged L atruim ( 5.2 cm. )Heart Cath neg. Have episodes about every 2-4 months. last about 5- 9hrs. and have converted with meds and without. Tried Atenolol, Cardizem CD, and Rythmol. Have had to stop them due to decrease in heart rate. (normal resting about 52-60) Rate response is ok.E.P. has recommended dual lead Pacemaker so that I can take meds. Have most recently started having more "skipped beats." EP says they don't show as arrythmia on Holters. Still bothersome and most frequent after eating, exercising, and bending over. Seems to reslove when resting. Question? I'm considering going to Texas Heart Inst. and see Dr. Duncun. Have any of you been treated at Houston and if so have any comments. I notice a number here have been to CC. Thanks for any info. and really enjoyed this site.
