13-Jan-01 03:20 PM from Ed: Hi all. I'm a lttle stiff with still some pain and soreness. Things got a little better today and Dr. Mccarthy wants to send me out of the hosptal tomorrow, Dr. McCarthy has visited the last two days and pretty well stayed up on things.
The surgery went well and finally got down on Wednesday afternoon. He also extubated me before I woke which made that somewhat easier. Mike Johnson had his surgery yesterday and is moving into a regular room this afternoo.
The heart seems to be staying in rhythm and I hope it stays that way.
Obviously, I have a great deal of thankfulness to many people in the maze group. Thanks to Jack Drum especially for all of his support and also to Bob Reily, Pat, Gene, and the many others I have in contact with. I'll cut this off now and I'm still a little confused.
I'll try to update this again tomorrow,
