Ed had his Maze on Wed. and is doing good. Here is a couple of post from his web site.

We even talked about all the rain in Southern California the last couple days....well, you know Ed, he has been worried about the fishing conditions up on the Sespi River. Those trout need water.
Besides being a little sore today, he is in good spirits and wants to thank everyone for their prayers, and emails of support.
He is now out of ICU and is in his own room. He mentioned that he never had to have the tubes that follow this type of surgery placed down his throat (after surgery), so that is a plus.
Ed mentioned that Mike Johnson is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.
Well done Ed.....let the competition begin. I guess I will no longer be able to beat him running any more. My victories were so short lived. Oh well.....

10-Jan-01 05:23 PM from Paul Wehan: Just received a telephone call from Jason.....the surgery is done and everything looks good. As of right now, the doctors are removing the tubes and all, and Ed will then be move to the ICU.
The surgery went well using the Maze 3 procedure which only requires partial break in the Sternum.
Jason said that he anticipates visiting Ed in about 3 hours.
