Judy, I think you are taking the correct approach in proceeding with the maze. It is great that the
flecainide has you in NSR while getting ready for the maze.

I was never on flecainide but spent 30+ years on different AF medications and they all either stopped working, or had side effects that I couldn't tolerate.

St. Louis's Barnes Jewish Hospital has a wonderful reputation, and that is where Dr. Cox gave life to the maze procedure. I would of had my maze there if Dr. Cox hadn't moved just at the time I needed the maze. I had mine in Peoria, by Dr. Geiss and it worked beautiful. It will be 6 years in April, free of AF and AF medication.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your maze. Can you set up a Status.com site to keep us, and all your friends informed while you are in the hospital.
