Date set for surgery

This forum has been so helpful to me, especially in sorting out surgeons and hospitals. I have decided to stay here in St. Louis and have Dr. Ralph Damiano at Barnes-Jewish perfom a maze and mitral valve repair (fingers crossed).
The date is set for Jan. 19 and I am running around like a possessed person to get all of my ducks in a row before then.
One note; the flecainide I started early in December kicked in a few weeks ago and I am in NSR, after not being in it for several months. It is GREAT! I feel wonderful. While it is disconcerting to face such major surgery while feeling so good, it also is a terrific incentive to want to have this feeling without the constant drug parade I have been on. I am hoping that surgery will achieve the same effect.
