Sara, you should contact Ed Wehan about his insurance after the maze.
Here is one of his earlier post.

What a wonderful post, Mary Lou and I am glad that Bob is doing well. I have mentioned it before but I will do it again that Blue Shield of California approved my surgery at CC with the help of Peg and then Blue Cross dropped my insurance rate after surgery to what a healthy 58 year old would pay. Blue Shield made me provide more info on my post maze health which I did but Blue Cross immediately dropped the rate. This was a savings to me of over $300/mo. or almost $4,000 year. After surgery, I wrote a thank you to Blue Shield as I want them to know that they saved money in the long run by my being cured. This year after surgery, I have had only one doctor's visit to my cardiologist for no real reason but to show him how healthy I am. For Blue Cross, this means a lot of income and very little expenses. Good for them and good for me. Thanks for your post.
