Glenn,

You've taken the first step toward a cure by posting on this board. I wholeheartedly concur with the others here and would encourage you to get your medical records to Cleveland or one of the other good sites mentioned. My recommendation is Cleveland.

To get you there in comfort why don't you get catheterized and have a leg bag for urine collection? I had one for a few days in the '70s following some surgery. I went back to work and had no problems. You could ask your doctor if this is reasonable for your circumstance.

I've had an ablation, an atrial pacemaker and the maze. The first two didn't do the job, but the maze got rid of my afibs. I had it done at the CC and think they're the greatest, though I know that there are some other very good people and facilities that other posters have mentioned.

I hope we've given you sufficient encouragement to get moving toward a cure. AV node ablation/ventricular pacing is NOT a cure since it does nothing to prevent the atria from fibrillating and keeps you on a course toward cardiomyopathy. It just keeps you from feeling the fibrillation since your ventricles are kept in rhythm .

I'll be pulling for you, Glenn. Stay the course.

Ken
