Judy: If you are going to the CC, they will probably give you "Guided Imagery for Stressful Times. This is a set of 2 tapes, of which one is "music only" featuring Steven Mark Kohn; and the other is "with nature sounds" featuring Diane Tusek. My preference is the "music only" one, which I have found put me to sleep or make me very relaxed post surgery and subsequently, on long flights across the country or to Europe. I never heard of them being used to promote healing, but I used them continuously at the CC and at home. Perhaps that is why I recovered so rapidly.
You will need to take a tape player, and I would recommend getting some "noise cancelling" headphones so you hear just about nothing else but the music.
Keep us updated on your progress and when you are about to go for surgery, set up a "patient page" at thestatus.com, for your friends and family to follow your progress.
