Jack, I think Mayo has been doing some of the Cryo. My husband just had kidney cancer "frozen" orthoscopically last November and it seems to be working....however, I was NOT happy that he insisted on letting a surgeon talk him into being only his FIFTH patient to have practiced on.
How experienced is your surgeon with cryo, and what are his success stats? If you read my AF Summit report, you will see that the CC surgeons are hoping that cryo will be able to become an efficient choice because it's felt to be "safer" energy source. It's slower, so you are on the table longer than RF, but your blood won't get hot and "bubble".
Hey, ask...."if the surgeon should decide to change over to RF for some reason during the surgery, will his hospital allow him to use more than one energy source per procedure"?
