Eileen: It's great that you're going to see Dr. Natale. He will undoubtably be straight with you and tell you whether an ablation or the Cox Maze III is best for you. If you can travel to the CC under your health plan, one of his very able associates (who have strong support from other posters here), can probably do an ablation sooner than several months from now. Maze surgery might be the best option if your CHF has caused considerable increase in atrial size.
