Rob, it is a good idea to make sure what you are feeling is afib. Be patient, it takes awhile for the scar tissue to form to block those 'bad' impulses. I didn't know for sure whether my maze was successful until almost 6 months after surgery. I came out of surgery in afib and was still in afib about 5-6 weeks afterward. I finally went into sinus on my own. The amiodarone kept me NSR but when I went off of it, I went back into afib. I took the amiodarone another 2 months. I'm now in NSR with some PACs and feeling better everyday. Hang in there.
