Rob: Are you sure that what you are experiencing is afib, and not aflutter or PACs? Many, if not most of us had at least plenty of PACs or other "blips" and "bumps", and some runs of atrial flutter (fast rate, but not as irregular as afib). Has your doctor confirmed with a Holter monitor exactly what you are experiencing?
I'd hate to wish another "trip to the other end of Australia" for you, but perhaps you might need a "touch-up" in a few months as have some othe posters here.
