And, yes, another thing that just struck me, in regard of "what happens next"...I don't know who pointed this out to me, but I remember having heard someone say that it takes almost two years to get back to normal (especially if you by "normal" means physical shape). I just can't let go of this. For me, this seems to be exactly the case! Having had a feeling of "shortness of breath", especially during the first part of a workout session (running) the first year, this feeling has gradually disappeared during my second year after the op. The last couple of months, the feeling of "running with a handbreak", is almost completely gone! I don't thing this is just a function of hard training and persistence. I'm fairly sure that the post-op effect (resulting in a inflexibility in the heart's "infrastructure") DO play a part. Anyway, besides feeling better from start, things are now also seriously looking up in regard of training. All you running veterans out there - look out! :-)
