Mike, I'm sorry to hear of your problems. I too am an alumni of the CC (8/8/00, by Dr. McCarthy). Overall, my expirience was successful, although there were some bumps in the road. I was in NSR for 2 days post-op then began to get a little rapid/irregular. My cardio (Dr. Mills) put me on norpace (too much/too soon) which I feel made me worse. It took 2 weeks for them to get me 'under control', which was very depressing since I was racing as high as 200 at times and as low as 50. I had never been as bad for so long. I was discharged on digoxin and rhtyhmol, which kept me in NSR. I am off the dig. and am now slowly reducing the rhythmol and hope to be med-free soon. In my pre-maze days, I had good luck mananging the problem with co-q10 and magnesium aspartate, which i continue to take daily. Mag. is good for maintaining heart rhythmn and co-q10 for cellular energy and overalll heart health. It's hard to imagine that the CC has not responded to your situation. Overall, my exprience was good, but I wasn't happy with my cardio and would have preferred to been managed solely by Dr. McCarthy post-op. My feeling was that there were too many players--and I didnt like the quarterback(Dr.Mills).. Anyway, they dont get very high marks from me re: follow up. It makes me question the validity of the 95% 'cure' rate. My best wishes to you..don't give up, Im sure you will improve over time.
