All we had was an email for Dr. Stephen Large in England, so I emailed him for some contact information. His kind reply and information follows. We'll also post it in the "MAZE Surgeons" area.

"Dear John,
Thank you for your kind e mail. I have checked the website and am impressed.
It is therefore without hesitation that I offer you my details:
Stephen R Large MA MS FRCS FRCP FETCS MBA
Consultant cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon
Papworth Hospital Papworth Everard CAMB CB38RE
tel: 0044.1480.364478 fax: 0044.1480.364334
e mail you have.
We have undertaken some 55 maze procedures of various kinds following my
training under Jimmy Cox in 1992. The UK is a little hesitant with this
procedure. We have explored the role of Maze in the context of mitral
regurgitation looking at spontaneous cardioversion rates with repair alone.
In addition we redesigned the Cox-Maze 3 operation ("Two cuts too few") the
procedure that most units now use. Incidentally we have also undertaken maze
with aortic root surgery, a topic of concern that some of you correspondents
address at your web-address. Best wishes and hope that I can help in some
way in the future. Yours sincerely Stephen Large"
