After having the maze in August, 2001 and continuing to have ongoing events, I was put on Plavix in Jan 2003. I took it for only 30 days as I had localized itching and bruised easily, especially in racquetball when the bruises were large and lasted for several weeks. Both my primary care physician and cardiologist supported that move as it was finally determined that the reason I was placed on Plavix in the first place was explained as continuing periodic fast heart rhythms. For my part I hope I can avoid coumadin and Plavix totally. I am considering swithcing from 81mg aspirin to full strength uncoated.

Propaphenone is something I have taken since June 2002 when I had a pacer implanted. The pacer was to assure my heart rate did not get too slow, and propaphenone was prescribed for hi-end heart rates. I have taken 150mg three times daily. Since my rapid heart rhythm episodes continue I am wondering if propathenone is doing anything for me.
