Larry: I agree with Jack, a second opinion is in order, if...the new doctor is up-to-speed on afib cures, NOT just symptom treatment with drugs. Take some website addresses with you, including www.clevelandclinic.org/heartcenter where he/she can search the afib info.
Perhaps if you post your location, someone will steer you to such an EP or cardiologist. The other plan might be to contact one of the Maze surgeons/hospitals to find out if they have had referrals from doctors in your area, and you can get their name(s).
