Like you, I'd rather not take my chances with a surgeon with limited experience in the procedure. Since my primary problem was a severly regurgitating mitral valve, I wanted the best "valve man." My son, who is a general surgeon, recommended Addonizio at Abington (suburban Phila.) and other heart surgeon at Lennox Hill in New York. That's how I ended up staying local.
