Keep asking the questions, Jim as the more you know, the better you'll feel about this. I'm no expert here but my opinion would be to go on with the surgery and use your rehab and new AFib life as a goal to lose the weight and to get into really good shape. Being in relatively good shape will help you recover but keep it up until the day of the surgery.
