Deniss, there is a lot of miss-understanding and misinformation regarding heart arrhythmias, causes, and treatments.
I think SVT is only a category that covers all fast arrhythmias originating above the ventricles. It could be atrial fibrillation, WPW or others, and be SVT. You should ask the doctors at the CC about this when you are there.
People as your cardiologist, even though he has seen several people with arrhythmias, has never felt the devastating effects of AF, and the likes. Open heart surgery is not something few people would opt. for without good reason.
You may get some replies as to your question on other treatments, but this message board is basically for the cure of atrial fibrillation by non-pharmaceutical treatment, such as the maze and ablations.
