Phillip: Great to see your post of such good news from across the pond. I am sure it is satisfying to Dr. Cox when he reads of far-off folks getting "cured" of afib, especially when we still have so many doctors here who think it is experimental, etc. Was your procedure covered by the National Health plan? I am sure other Brits would like to know, and to know of your doctor and surgeon, so they can cut through some of that "red tape" (as we say in the Colonies).

I can sure relate to your experience with coughing, except mine came at day 12. My "friend for life" was a pillow, which I squeezed to my chest whenever I coughed. Your description of the scene from Alien never ocurred to me, but it is VERY appropriate. I am having one of those "drinks all around" now. (By the way, when I went to my local cardiologist, 11 days post-maze, I asked him when I might be able to have some wine. He replied: "I think you should start tonight". My wife was not pleased, since the CC doctor had said to wait a month, and she was very concerned about me going back into afib). It was/has never been a problem since. Wahoo!!
