The maze creates a condition where the electrical impulse from the sinus to the AV node is normalized. A block from the scars keeps out other impulses. Once the maze is in place, whatever your normal lifestyle was prior to AFib can be re-established. I always loved a cup of coffee and a glass of wine or a beer. Since my maze, that is exactly what I do with no ill effect. Congratulations on your success. Enjoy life. That's what you did it for.
