I have initiated a contact with CC to learn more about the PVI at that institution. I was told by a nurse that some of the complications and associated risks for the PVI procedure are:
Stroke 1%
Pulmonary Vein Stenosis requiring treatment 2%
I have a mathematics education; So, I must assume unless some persons have both a stroke and pulmonary vein stenosis (God forbid) the risks are additive, and there is a 3% risk of a serious complication of just these two kinds. Does any one of you who has spoken to any of the fine doctors at the CC have different or better information? I wonder if these percentages are rounded up or if the risks can be distributed across other categories such as presence of other risk factors (age, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart valve abnormalities, etc). The answer will be a significant factor in my decision of where or if to attempt the PVI, again.

What are the complications and associated risks for the Maze at the CC?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
