I had the maze in June of 2000 at CCF.Prior to this I had Afib off and on for several years during which time I read a lot of material about it and what was thought to cause it. If my memory serves me correctly, the other problems you have had are sometimes the cause of atrial fibrillation. So with a mitral valve repair and the added bypass- who knows- maby your afib condition will improve as a consequence. However, like Carl and Mike in their excellent posts, I would encourage you to have patience and if at all possible, deal with the Cleveland Clinic.
