Congratulations Gene on your decision to end atrial fibrillation and get your valve fixed.
Your right about the surgeon having to start somewhere. As I have said before and will repeat now, that I think any surgeon that is doing the maze procedure is among the few out of the top of the class. It may be his first at this hospital, but he has been through the procedure some other place. He just didn't wake up one morning and say that he was going to do the maze procedure. He has probably spent many hours studying and learning the procedure and brings with him the latest techniques.
