maze v. ablation

I'm a 45 year old female w/ LAF, 2 yrs post diagnosis (probably started 5 yrs before that), daily AFib runs lasting 30-120 mins @ 120-140BPM, usually 2 distinct runs per day w/ lots of little short ones. I'm sick and tired of this, have flunked all meds but Tycosin. I'm researching which procedure to pursue. EP says "I've never met a CV surgeon who doesn't want to do surgery" and I imagine a CV surgeon would say the same thing about EP & ablation. It seems like the success rates on Maze are higher and the complications are lower than ablation (EP disagrees).
