MAZE/Chronic AF

Hello everyone I'm new to this board.I have read all the postings and must say im excited on what I read.I have Af Vagal type,was diagnosed with it March 29/02.I have gone from Af every 10 days too every other day now.I'm on Propafanone when ever I go into AF.I know I'm not chronic yet my EP says it will take time for that.I am scheduled to have an ablation in the spring here in Toronto.I read all about the success rate with CC but our health care system in Canada only lets us have free treatment in our country.The Eps and cardio hospitals are pretty up to date here on all procedures so i feel comfortable with that.My question is does the maze procedure also work on chronic AF as well, and have any of you been with chronic AF before you had your maze.I'm asking because i will wait until spring to have my abaltion.If its not successful i will want the maze.Im just affraid I might be chronic by then.Please pass on any info you might have on this.I'm so glad I have found this board I now know Af can be beaten!
