Hi John:
Were your MAZE surgury done in 1999 by Dr. Ducan and Massumi of St. Lukes Hospital in Houston? Was it the MAZE III procedure or MAZEI Procedure? Why did you pick up St. Luke Hospital and not Cliveland or Mayo Clinics which are rated number 1 & 2, repectivly ?

Sorry to ask all these questions at once. I need to know so I can decide what to do. You see, I am a 58 Male and have been in Chronic Lone Atrial Fibrillation for the past 4 yeras. I suffure from fatigue all the time and I hate to think that I will be on Medications for the rest of my life. I kept hoping that there will be advances in Catheter ablation that shows a high rate of sucess, but all is expermental so far. So, the Maze operations seems the only answer. However, I keep reading about the problem encountered after the operation for about 20 to 30% of the people. So, I keed to know is this related to the surgn, the hospital care, or the type of procedure (Maze I , II, or III) ?.

Thank you for the help?
