I was lucky after my mitral valve replacement 4 years ago. I am a doctor and I knew a certain percentage of patients experience depression post almost any kind of surgery. I was prepared to ask for help if I needed it.
This is no time to be "tough". The depression is due to screwed up brain chemicals.Let folks know your feelings. Get a top-notch psychiatrist consulting sooner not later.
