Don,
Many years prior to my AFib days, I had problems with junctional tachycardia with sustained ventrical rates of 180 bpm with atrial dissassociation (ventricals ran at 180 while atriums ran at normal rate - guess it's uncommon). Quite a bit faster than yours. Had that problem for years until verapamil was released in the US. Verapamil solved the tachycardia problem immediately. Years later when I was having an EP study for the AFib and junctional tachycardia, they found a reentry pathway (a couple, in fact) near the AV node and were successful in ablating it. Dr. said they had to be real careful ablating so close to the AV node. They left one small circuit alone because of it's close proximity. Haven't had any tachycardia since, no Verapamil needed.

I had this done at Johns Hopkins by a very capable research Dr., so I was worked on by very capable hands.

Been 3 months in Sinus rythm and feeling 100%.
