Good luck with your PVI. I think insurance companies have a hard time saying no to CC because of their reputation and success rates. When CC writes your insurance company, they should come around. My insurance approved my getting a Maze in September after Peggy Judson contacted them which is amazing because in parallel Dr McCarthy decided my condition wasn't serious enough to be treated with a Maze! Peggy must be good!!

In lieu of the Maze, I am going in to have a PVI on November 25th at CC with Dr Natale. I'll let you know how things go for me.

My afibs have been occurring about every 3-4 days and last about 20 hours each time. However, a weird thing happened this past week, I started talking Coumadin last Monday and I haven't had an afib episode since. That's 8 days of being afib free - it's been great! My previous best was 6 days. I am sure it's a coincidence.

Afib is such a strange and fickle condition. The trigger mechanism must be multifaceted because it is so unpredictable. I gave up trying to find triggers or mitigators for it since I kept getting my hopes up only to be disappointed. I go about my life as normal now and I seem to do better. I have even added caffeine, MSG, wine and other likely triggers back to my diet, and I seem to be doing better now. Go figure.
