Hey Dan. My name is Angie Strand. I just couldn't help but respond. I was first scheduled for the MAZE two years ago ... and my insurance refused to cover. I spent the next year and a half making sure that I had tried ALL of the meds available and any other possible treatment options. Finally, my local cardiologist (jerk anyway) said he would support an evaltuation by the Cleveland Clinic. My insurance still balked but I went anyway and worked out the snags from my hotel room in Cleveland. I was more than ready for the MAZE -- but it was suggested that I give a Pulmonary Vein Ablation a try. And now, after the skill and caring of Dr. Schweikert and Dr. Netale I have played softball all summer and walk two miles most nights ... I play with my babies and feel the best I've felt all my life. I no longer pass out in the shower, huff and puff walking up a flight of stairs or have to pass on chasing my kids arround. I am 28 years old right now, and finally feel like it. And it was because I found this board that I was able to gain a knowledge base to get where I needed to go. I praise God for allowing me to follow this path, and I thank the brave folks here who listened and leant their input to me during the last couple years.

Also, to everyone else that is wondering where I've been ... well it's not been sitting at the computer! Hee hee.

Checking in soon,
Angie
