Hi Bruce-
I personally had this procedure that you are talking about. It will control rate, and is a very good choice for MFAT at least I think so. As far as fib or flutter, this procedure will control rate but not rhythm.
It sounds like rate is your problem, I had this done when I was 20-21sh and am now 28. I say go for it. It will definately help from what I know personally. Please, feel free to e-mail if you have any further concerns!
