John W Gross ..thank you for the suggestion of cutting the atenolol in half..... At moment the promary doctor started me on 50 mg a day.....But I hate taking it and I'm not having any problems with extra beats for a couple weeks now... I have decided to cut the atenolol down to 25mg a day for a week or so and then cut that in half too... I see my former heart doctor Oct 1st..... I will discuss with him about maybe only taking some atenolol IF the problem with extra beats come back...Take as needed...AFTER being off everything for 4 years I sure don't want back on any of that old medicine.. This way if I start cutting the dose down I can let the heart doctor know how I'm doing when I get there...Thanks again for sharing....Pam Bown
