Thanks for your response to my post on the Maze forum. I have followed your postings and must say I admire your stick-to-itiveness and courage to have one ablation, the maze and another ablation in order to be cured. I am glad for your successful outcome.

I touted the University of Pennsylvania because of some recent artical I read and because my EP's are aware of the accomplishments of Dr. Marchlinski and his peers at the University of Pennsylvania. I touted the Cleveland Clinic because so many have been cured of their a-fib there.

My EP says that the cure rate for ablation, the way it is done today, is around 70%. Higher cure rates have been cited but can only be achieved by careful patient selection, he says. He is optimistic in my case.
