Nice post, Claude. Good for you on your flyfishing, one of my favorite sports. I was going to jump all over your doctor's comments on "wishing it wasn't so invasive" but Carl already did it and did it well. I guess it's OK to slowly live out life with Afib and it's restraint of quality of life but worry about the invasiveness of what may cure us. We can have blocked arteries and open heart surgery is just fine but having our hearts weakened by AFib isn't apparent enough and so it's OK to live with it and slowly lose our health. I sure would like to meet a cardiologist who has AFib and is willing to live with it for the rest of his or her life given the option of the maze cure.
