35 days after Post Maze Ablation

Visited my cardiologist today. It has been 35 days since the ablation for atrial flutter. My cardiologist pronounced me "cured". The EKG shows "P" waves, which were not there before the ablation. He says to come back in six weeks at which time the Coumadin will be stopped. I have not had any other meds since the ablation (no Rythmol, no Toprol).

When I jog in the evenings, my heart rate goes up to 100 bpm or so. After stopping, it comes down to 70 bpm. I don't get out of breath carrying groceries up a flight of stairs any more. I don't get dizzy getting out of a chair. I have lots of energy and don't need naps during the afternoon. It is a great feeling.

My sincere thanks to all the good people who, with their emails and postings, convinced me and prodded me to return to Cleveland when I really didn't want to see CCF any more. The long, eight month wait after the Maze, without good results, had caused me to give up. I am now very, very glad that I went back. Thank you, my friends.

Has anyone heard from Jim Roff since his PVA?

Best wishes to all,
Henry
