Boy, wouldn't it be fun for us to get together for a trip! PACs really are not much more than a distraction, I think. I'd gladly trade in my afibs for PACs.
Today Linda and I did some more road testing of my heart. We went up almost 4,000' vertical (I carried about 20-25 pounds to increase the workload). Neither of us set any speed records, but it was easy to sustain a steady pace. In the past I would have about a 100% chance of getting hit with about 12-18 hours of afibs after such an outing, usually starting on the car ride home. I'm sitting at home and haven't felt a thing so far. I'm really hoping this lasts tonight, because for me it would represent a giant step in recovery.
Maybe someone has written on this, but I can't recall: I seem to breathe harder now than before (my hematocrit is still slightly down). My lungs seem to be my limiting function- ie., my legs don't seem to be as near their limit as my lungs, though I'm not approaching the limits of either legs or lungs. Is this what others have experienced?
